What can Frances Watt’s 1988 painting of underwriters at the box tell us about the people and traditions that have shaped Lloyd’s?
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Lloyd’s building, HIVE Underwriters brings together Christine Dandridge, Non-executive Director of HIVE Underwriters and one of the first female underwriters at Lloyd’s, and Bruce Carman, our CEO, for a conversation celebrating life in the market.
Their connection extends beyond HIVE: Christine was Bruce’s boss at Atrium. That shared history adds a personal dimension to this contribution to Lloyd’s anniversary campaign.
Since opening in 1986, the Richard Rogers-designed building at One Lime Street has provided a distinctive home for the Lloyd’s community. Its Underwriting Room brings people together to exchange knowledge, build relationships and conduct business face to face.
The anniversary offers an opportunity to recognise the people who have helped shape that community, alongside the architecture that houses it. We’re pleased to contribute Christine and Bruce’s conversation to the celebrations.
