London 4 November 2026 – Independent specialty managing general agent HIVE Underwriters today announces the appointment of Ed Wiley as Class Underwriter – Property Direct & Facultative (D&F), further strengthening its new property underwriting team.
Wiley joins from Sompo, where he was Head of International Property. He brings more than two decades of industry experience, with extensive technical expertise across international and UK property and a strong track record of managing complex portfolios and delivering strong financial performance.
His appointment follows the arrival of Richard Brown as Head of Property to establish HIVE’s global Property D&F business. Wiley will work alongside Brown to develop the portfolio, combining experienced underwriting judgement with HIVE’s investment in data, analytics and technology.
